Why NewCura

How Health Systems Use NewCura

Diagram titled Centralized Content Management. Many scope brands and specialties feed one EndoManager EMS imaging layer, with copies sent to the procedure note, Epic Gallery, Cerner, or an optional PACS or VNA.

Scope fleets change. Rooms get a new tower, a new specialty moves in, a facility joins the system with a different manufacturer's equipment. If the imaging software is tied to one scope brand, every change becomes an imaging project.

  • One platform across brands.

Fujifilm, Olympus and Pentax rooms feed the same storage, the same viewer and the same EHR workflow.

  • One platform across specialties.

GI and pulmonary endoscopy, ENT (head and neck), speech pathology (FEES), urology, bronchoscopy, pain management and other procedural areas.

  • Your storage choice.

Use EndoManager's own storage, or keep your PACS or VNA investment and route to it.

  • Independent.

NewCura builds imaging software, not scopes, so your equipment decisions can follow clinical needs.

Frequently asked questions

Does EndoManager work with Epic Lumens?

Yes. EndoManager sends captured images straight into the Lumens procedure note, without a separate VNA. The listing "EndoManager EMS by NewCura" has Epic Toolbox status in the Endoscope Data Capture category. Epic does not endorse, certify, or verify listed software. See the listing (opens in a new tab).

Do we need a VNA or PACS to use EndoManager with Lumens?

No. EndoManager stores images itself and sends them straight to Lumens. If you already use a PACS or VNA, EndoManager can route images there too. It also works with Epic Gallery.

Does EndoManager work with Cerner?

Yes. EndoManager receives orders, scheduling and patient messages from Cerner and sends images back to it. See integrations.

Which scope brands does EndoManager support?

EndoManager is vendor-neutral. It works with Fujifilm, Olympus, Pentax and other camera systems, including mixed fleets. Rooms whose equipment doesn't support DICOM worklist use a capture station connected to the tower.

What's the difference between EndoManager EMS and EndoManager Report Writer (EM3)?

EndoManager EMS is the imaging product: it captures, stores and routes images and video, and handles the Epic and Cerner integration. Most customers start there. EndoManager Report Writer (EM3) is the endoscopy report writer for sites replacing their current one, and it sends finished reports to your EHR. You can buy EMS on its own.

Which specialties use EndoManager?

GI and pulmonary endoscopy most often, followed by ENT (head and neck), speech pathology (FEES), urology, bronchoscopy, pain management and other procedural areas that capture visible-light images and video.

Is NewCura the same company as Summit Imaging?

Yes. NewCura was founded in 1999 as Summit Imaging in the Kansas City area and has had the same owners throughout. The company is based in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

How is EndoManager priced?

We don't publish a price list, because cost depends on rooms, capture stations, interfaces, sites and migration scope. Schedule a demo, and we'll send a quote built for your project.
