Fujifilm ELUXEO 8000 and EndoManager® EMS

The Fujifilm ELUXEO 8000 (EP-8000) connects to EndoManager EMS in one of two ways. Rooms that only need stills can send them straight to EMS by DICOM, with no capture PC in the room: the worklist brings in the patient name, and EMS reads the scope serial from each stored image. Rooms that need video, or two-way control of the processor, use an EndoManager EM4 capture station.

Which one? Each room uses one path, not both. EM4 is required to record video, so if a room needs video, EM4 is installed and captures both stills and video. If a room only needs stills, it's your choice: DICOM direct skips EM4 and saves the cost of the capture PC hardware. On the DICOM path you still get the patient name from the worklist and the scope serial from each stored image, but you don't get two-way control or video. The license is the same either way, since NewCura licenses each device whether it uses EM4 or DICOM capture.

Where images go

EMS forwards images to your EHR, a PACS or VNA, or Epic Gallery. For Epic organizations, images go to the Lumens procedure note. Epic integration

Frequently asked questions

Can one room use DICOM for stills and EM4 for video?

No. A room uses one path. When video is needed, EM4 handles both stills and video.

Does the license cost change between DICOM and EM4?

No. NewCura licenses each device the same way whether it connects through EM4 or DICOM capture.

Does the ELUXEO 8000 need a capture PC?

Not for stills. Over DICOM it sends stills straight to EndoManager EMS, with the patient name from the worklist and the scope serial from each stored image. If the room needs video or two-way control, it uses an EM4 capture station instead, for both stills and video.

Does the DICOM path get the patient name and scope serial?

Yes. The DICOM Modality Worklist brings in the patient name, and EMS reads the scope serial from each stored DICOM image. What you don't get on this path is two-way control or video.

Can the 8000 send video by DICOM?

No. The 8000 doesn't send video by DICOM. EM4 is required to record video.

Does the ELUXEO 7000 work the same way?

The 7000 (VP-7000 with BL-7000) also offers DICOM direct for stills and EM4 for video and two-way control. See scope and processor compatibility.

Compatibility depends on equipment model, software version, and site configuration. Listings and workflow diagrams are for planning only. Your NewCura team confirms every workflow before quoting.
