Olympus EVIS X1 and EndoManager® EMS

The Olympus EVIS X1 (CV-1500) connects to EndoManager EMS through an EndoManager EM4 capture station at the tower. EM4 records stills and video from the processor's video output, and a serial RS232 link gives two-way control: patient details go to the processor, the scope's serial number is detected, and staff can capture from the scope's buttons.

Video needs EM4. The X1 doesn't send video by DICOM. EM4 is required to record video, and EM4 is what records it.

What's supported

  • Still images and video
  • Two-way RS232 control
  • Patient details sent to the processor
  • Scope serial number detection
  • Capture triggered from the scope

What's not supported

Where images go

Frequently asked questions

Does the EVIS X1 need a capture PC?

Yes. The X1 connects through an EndoManager EM4 capture station. EM4 is required to record video, and it also gives you two-way control.

Can the X1 send images to EndoManager by DICOM?

No. Olympus processors connect through EM4, not by DICOM.

Do older Olympus processors work too?

See scope and processor compatibility.

Compatibility depends on equipment model, software version, and site configuration. Listings and workflow diagrams are for planning only. Your NewCura team confirms every workflow before quoting.
